Sloped off this morning to attend little sister's graduation ceremony with mother. She really is a doctor now. She wasn't making it up. Huh.

My suggestion that she should do as I did before my graduation ceremony and run up and down the church steps in her robe pretending to be Batman was met with a look that I took to mean awesome! even though it probably meant you're so embarrassing.

We took her out for Malaysian food afterwards to celebrate, and mum said she couldn't remember where we'd gone after my graduation.

We didn't go out after my graduation, I reminded her.

We must have done!

No. You came, drank the free glass of wine at the reception, went to buy cigarettes and lost my degree certificate, then went home. Remember?

Well, she said, you were probably too busy pretending to be Batman anyway.

Which is a fair point, really.

Lunch was lovely but a bit rushed, as I wanted to look in on gran and little sister had to get back to stroking a white cat and plotting the downfall of James Bond (which in my head is what she does all day.)

Anyway, I took her out to celebrate properly at the weekend at the Scotland - New Zealand rugby game. She knows sod-all about rugby, but loves it as a day out where she drinks medically unwise amounts of cider, eyes up men in lycra, and shouts whatever random sports terms come into her head at the pitch. Somewhat embarrassing sitting next to her, she did however decree that Richie Gray shall be referred to as Thor at all times, so it was well worth taking her.

The rugby has gotten much more heartening since Scotland have realised that the point of the endeavour is to score on the opposition. Three tries against the All blacks, well done Thor & co.
