We Lead Very Different Lives, Don't We?

netgirl_y2kLast night I was having a catch up drink with a friend who I shall call Dave, for that is his name, and I was telling him about everything that's been going on of late.
"...So if she is staying in the care home permanently then I have to decided what to do with the house. I can either sell it as is or stay on for a few months and try to do it up some, the last time it was properly decorated was in nineteen seventy whatever. Either way, after that I guess it'll be back to the parent's place."
"Isn't that going to be weird, you know, for sex?"
"--I --I --What?"
"I mean for having women back, if you're living with your mum?"
"Dude, I've been living with a ninety three year old dementia sufferer. How many booty calls do you think I've been getting?"
Which was roughly the point where I remembered why this had been one of the first of my RL friendships to slide when life got insane. Still, you have to admire his optimism.
