Where's the God of Tits and Wine?

I don't have much to say about this week's Game of Thrones, basically because, as much as I love The Tyrion and Cersei, Co-Starring Wine Show, not a lot actually happened.
Asha... Yara... Whatever your name is, I can't stress how important it is that you go back to Winterfell and make Theon leave with you, tie him to the damn horse if you have to, just get your baby brother out of there before anyone named Ramsey turns up.
This reaction post is brought to you by the same school of denial that is still hoping that Sansa and Shae are going to go and live in a nice cottage by the seaside where no one will hurt or use them, and is absolutely, positively sure that nothing untoward is going to happen to Cat while Brienne is off on her roadtrip with Jaime.
I like it up here on Denial Mountain.

(Also, kind of lame they only had Oona get naked for that scene, it's not like judging from Sirens, Richard Madden has any issue with nudity)
But yes, Yara was fantastic... although as much as I have sympathy for Theon, he did still kill two farm boys who had done nothing. Not killing Bran and Rickon doesn't make it MUCH better in my book.
But yes, oh Shae and Sansa in a cottage by the seeeea. I wish those two could have their own in-denial happy spin-off.

Date: 2012-05-22 10:52 pm (UTC)I do defend Theon, but it's more in the sense of how he's basically the dictionary definition of Has Suffered Enough, also that he's more weak-willed and pathetic than actively evil. That he didn't kill Bran and Rickon was never ANY kind of defense, killing the other boys because Ramsey told him to and he didn't want to look weak is what makes him so utterly, utterly reprehensible. But that's why Theon's story works so well, you have to be repulsed by him and wishing terrible things on him by the end of CoK so that when he reappears as Reek you find yourself going "No, stop it! That isn't what I meant!"

Date: 2012-05-23 01:05 am (UTC)Oh, I know. I actually HATED HIM SO VERY MUCH (he was on my top 5 hated list and that's a hard list to get on) because of killing the two boys (wtf do I care that it wasn't Bran or Rickon), but yeeeeeeeeeeesh after ADWD, I was just.. yeah I kind of had to hang back a little and all the feelings that I am feeling in the show now, is what I felt when he finally admitted to himself that he did want to be a Stark and his regret over Robb and aghadsflkjsa;lfkjds my Theon feels, agh.
