I have started writing my yuletide fic, and it's not even December yet. Obviously I would like to procrastinate on this, and I have already ironed everything in the house that can't run away or bite me, so a meme which I have cheerfully swiped from woldy: The fannish breakup exercise.

Give me a pairing, and I'll tell you something about the reasons, circumstances, or consequences of their breakup.

To be honest, Morgana thought Camelot was a dreadful place. If she never laid eyes on Merlin or Gaius again it would be too soon, and obviously the only way to stop Gwen and Arthur (blech!) from making cow-eyes at one another was to kill one or both of them. But what she did miss was that oil Gwen used to put in her hair, the stuff that made it curl so nicely and not do that weird frizzy thing whenever it rained (which, by the way, seemed to be a lot more ever since she'd stopped living in a castle), and dammit, if she had to conquer the whole bloody kingdom to get it back, well, that was just what she was going to do.

Morgana wasn't going back to Camelot, not ever. She'd stay with Amy forever, she thought. They fit, Morgana and Amy, in the TARDIS, bigger on the inside, with its never-ending corridors and rooms that never stayed where you'd left them. But in Leadworth Morgana didn't fit, and neither did Amy, not really. And for a while they didn't fit in together, but you can't live like that forever.

I actually have a whole elaborate headcanon about how they would work as a couple. They'd be all sharp edges, and too many memories for tiny human heads, and ridiculously intricate haircare regimes. And they'd both be terrified of the day they have to leave the TARDIS because it's the only place they've ever really fit.

Basically, I have overthought it like whoa.

The joked all through Nina's pregnancy, called the baby pup and cub, snarked about wolf gestation and convinced themselves that everything was going to be fine. But when they returned to the house after the first full moon following the birth, Annie showed them the footage she'd taken on George's phone, the tiny snarling werewolf throwing itself violently at Annie's boots. "Ankle biter," George joked weakly, but Nina met his eyes and knew that it was over.

Susan/Adora Belle

Most of Susan's relationships end when people find out she's Death's granddaughter, Adora Belle just looks at her over the top of a cigarette and says, "Yes, that explains the wardrobe." They carry on pleasantly enough for another six months before it fizzles out with an argument neither of them will remember in a weeks time. Susan's quite pleased, that was almost human of her. Anyway, she's quite sure she was right, she's the expert, and there's certainly no such thing as the Death of Golems.
