Things That Make Me Happy, Day Four

1. Libraries. I love libraries, and I don't really understand people who don't. They're basically big rooms of free books. How do you not think this is the coolest thing ever? I was in one today, I got The Finkler Question, which I probably won't read, and one of the Alex Rider books, which I probably will.

2. My sister. She's going abroad for work tomorrow but she lost her passport and she called me to complain.

Sister: And I always keep my passport in the same envelope, but now all that's in there is my birth certificate, a staple remover and £200 pounds in cash.
Me: Don't take this the wrong way, but is it possible that you sold your passport and have just forgotten about it?
Sister: Um. maybe?

It's difficult to explain unless you know my sister, but that's actually not outwith the realm of possibility.

3. I have new Game of Thrones to watch. I don't know how I'm enjoying this series so much, because I'm sure I had very mixed feelings on the books by the end of Feast for Crows. But, whatever, I am loving it. Mostly I blame Lena Headey. Also, the kid who plays Arya.

Speaking of, Arrested Westeros Game of Thrones graphics with lines from Arrested Development. I've never even seen any Arrested Development and it's still pretty much the funniest thing I've even seen.

Speaking of Game of Thrones... Say, hypothetically, that someone hasn't read the last book (*koff*). Is GoT the kind of giant spoilerfest that would be an unfun experience for someone like me that?

I've been surprised by how how much the show has been sticking to the plot of the first book. I actually know someone who's reading along but is just keeping a chapter behind the show. So, no, there's no spoilers for the later books, you your hypothetical somebody would be fine.

Also, it is very pretty.

That's true. Although, we tore the house apart looking for this thing and then closed all of Scottish airspace because of Icelandic volcanic ash. Ho hum.
