Like most of Doctor Who fandom I have been utterly floored by the news that Elisabeth Sladen has passed away.
You know, when Doctor Who first came back in 2005 I watched it casually and liked it very much, but it wasn't until the second series and the episode School Reunion in particular that I came to love it. David Tennant made me love the Doctor, but it was Lis Sladen who made me love Doctor Who, the whole glorious cardboard set, dalek filled, Sarah Jane in ridiculous outfits containing lot of it.
Rest in peace. You will be missed.
And now I am going to curl up with a cup of tea and my Genesis of the Daleks DVD and be sad.

I have actually watched (and own) The Hand of Fear because she's so adorably adorkable in it. Even with the pink dungarees, she's awesome.
