Black Panther - Like, I get why it was too long. It was three movies weirdly smooshed together: the movie it was originally supposed to be, the movie it had to be after Chadwick Boseman passed, and set up for Ironheart and The Thunderbolts. But I do feel like at least some of the length problem could have been solved by Martin Freeman just...not being in this movie. There must be a Disney+ coming soon where they could jam their Thunderbolts prep. The actor playing Namor was excellent, and way to go on making his little footie wings anything other than laughable, but he did suffer from the same problem as Killmonger, of, like, do you have a response to your very valid complaints that are any level below genocide, because maybe then we can get onboard. Angela Bassett absolutely deserves that Oscar nod, because she was the MVP here, but she was also not the only one acting circles around Letitia Wright whose...heart did not seem to be in this.

The Menu - My sister is a huge horror movie fan, and I am very much mot. I do not enjoy being frightened, and I have no stomach for blood or gore. I have fainted twice and puked once watching movies that were very much for other people to enjoy. So when she recommends me films she gives them two scores: How Good the Movie is (out of 10) and Will You Be Able to Sit Through It (out of 10). Her last two recommendations were Barbarian which she gave an 8/10 on quality, and a 2/10 on the likelihood of my being able to get through it without crying, and The Menu, a 6/10 and 8/10 respectively. So I watched The Menu, all the way through, mainly because despite the trailer fakeout the reveal is not actually that they were cannibals.

My sister is now trying to convince me that M3GAN isn't too gorey and I'd be fine, but that was the same line she used to get me to see Midsommer so I no longer trust her.

Glass Onion - Great cast, fun movie, not as good as Knives Out. Finally got to this because I figured I'd best watch anything I still wanted to watch on Netflix before the password sharing crackdown starts. One of the many ways this feels like an own goal for Netflix is that I doubt I'm alone in not even considering getting my own account because of all the streaming services I have access to it's become the one I watch by far the least, it's like 'Oh, yeah, Netflix.... well, hit me up when it's time to pirate Sandman S2.' I mean, I'm also piggybacking on someone else's Disney+ account and if they cancelled or whatever I'd at least give some serious thought to paying for it. But it's not like Netflix is doing this from a position of strength when there's a bunch of must watch shows and movies coming soon. They keep cancelling shows (I was at episode two of 1899 when they cancelled it, and I'm not going to finish to because why bother...) and with the honourable exception of Glass Onion the Netflix original movies are kind of a punchline.
