It is the Scottish Parliament elections today (also the Welsh Elections and the English locals). I have been and voted and received my complementary pencil. Yes, I know it's a covid safety measure, but shhh, free pencil. Now all that's left to do is kick back and hope that Count Binface pwns Laurence Fox and that Alba dies on its arse.

I did end up watching Shazam which I'd missed when it first came out, and thought it was lovely and great fun, and maybe my favourite DCEU film? WW84 kinda soured the memory of the original Wonder Woman for me, so maybe Shazam is tied with Birds of Prey? Anyway, 'twas good. I think maybe I liked it so much because I also watched the Snyder cut because, hey, I'd already payed for the rental, and, like, it's better than the original cut of Justice League if only by virtue of having a consistent tone throughout, although that tone is still that of a Zack Snyder DCEU film. It was also approximately seventy-three hours long.

I also watched Love and Monsters which was offensively heterosexual, but also had a really cool dog in it, so, yeah, one and bit thumbs up, and The Mitchells vs. The Machines which I would recommend to anyone who liked the Lego movies, spider-verse, or who enjoy happiness and fun.

I finished The Falcon and The Winter Soldier which - it's hard to judge things coming out now, because you don't know how badly production was impacted by covid, but it felt weirdly undercooked. It had individual cool moments, plenty of them even, but my lasting impression was of four different stories - Sam becoming cap, Bucky making amends, John Walker, the Flag smashers - none of them complete, and the show stitching what had been filmed for each of them together into a more or less coherent whole. Ho hum.
