Oct. 22nd, 2011 01:24 pmSometimes I think mum might be onto something when she says my sister works too hard.
Little Sister: Do you have any books about baking?
Me: Like, recipe books? Some. Why?
Little Sister: I'm thinking of learning to bake. Or knit. Or sew well enough to make my own clothes.
Me: Or all three at once?
Little Sister: ...No. That would be ridiculous.
Me: Sure, because you calling me at midnight to announce your intention to take up baking isn't ridiculous at all. Why the sudden urge to bake anyway?
Little Sister: I think I should have a, you know, a thing. A thing that I could do that isn't work, that would stop me from thinking about work. Do you know what I mean?
Me: I believe that's called a hobby. A number of people have them. You can look it up online if you get confused.
So, I've given her a book on cupcakes. I suspect this is going to end quite badly.
