/A mate of mine says that once all three films are out on DVD someone with some good video editing software should be able to edit them down to the perfectly nice two-ish hour film it should have been in the first place./ - OMG, that be perfection. I mean, really? Three movie for a three hundred pages long book?!? Even taking in consideration they added things from TLOTR appendices, it's ridiculous. Now if they had access (as in rights) to The Silmarillion it would be another matter... - though how could you blame Tolkien's son for not wanting it transformed into another The Hobbit movie?
