As far back as S2 I was saying, and I doubt that I was the only one, that they had changed Shae's character, and her relationship with Tyrion so much that changing the end of her storyline was inevitable. Apparently not.
It's just-- you know how when they were trying to justify the Jaime/Cersei rape by saying that it was the ripple effect, and the inevitable result of page-to-screen adaptation? No, that was just stupid. This is a different kind of stupidity that results from ignoring the ripple effect.
Bash/Kenna does things for me because I love that trope where people unexpectedly find happiness in a situation they were forced into. That's part of the reason I like Greer/Castleroy too, of course the other reason is that Lord Castleroy is an adorkable, peppery, dreamboat.
