I wish I could have seen it that way, I couldn't see it as anything other than a joke which wasn't nearly as funny as it thought it was.
I have fallen into the bad habit of assuming the worst possible interpretation of everything Steven Moffat writes for a female character. And, really, I must snap out of it, for the sake of enjoying Clara if nothing else.
