It is entirely possible to give yourself catastrophic food poisoning from bad spinach. But, like many things in life, just because it's possible doesn't mean you should.

It was, I think, Wednesday, when my sister came round unexpectedly to find me under a duvet on the couch, shivering and dry retching, with one of the dogs curled up at my feet.

Sister: What are you doing home at this hour?
Me: Food poisoning *moangroangargle*
Sister: Oh, oh you poor, poor puppy... What's the nasty lady been feeding you, eh? Good dog, good boy!
Me: Me. Me, you unsympathetic little shit! I've got food poisoning!

I think I may actually be the first person to achieve poisoning by spinach. Oh, well, at least I'm up to snuff for the rugby this weekend. I don't think I could face another Scotland match if I was still under the weather.
