-As of today they're lifting the stay home instruction here, but nothing else is changing. So I can now go into Glasgow city centre, go, 'Huh, everything's still closed' and come straight back home. I plan to do so tomorrow, and am slightly concerned that this might be too much excitement for me.

-I got my second vaccine dose - woot! - and this time did feel like I'd been gone over with a length of rubber hose afterwards. Nothing that couldn't be sorted with a couple of pain killers and a good night's sleep, and also, the side effects could have been twenty times worse and the vaccine have to be injected directly into my eyeball and I still would have been there with a smile on my face going: 'yes, please stick me with the magic lifesaving juice that will prevent me from inadvertently killing my fellow humans, thank you.'

-Foster dog update: Charlier's owner called me on Tuesday to say that he was feeling much better and hoped to be able to take Charlie home this week. Charlie's owner's partner called me on Wednesday, to all appearances unaware of the previous conversation, to say that the owner is still really bad, may have to go back into hospital, and could I maybe keep Charlie for a few more weeks. I don't think this is a domestic situation I want to be involved in, so I'm just going to assume that someone, at some point, will appear to reclaim the dog, and if they don't, sweet, free dog.

Original pooch is being sooo patient and tolerant (especially as OG Pooch generally has the temperament of a hungover Tasmanian devil.) I am so proud of her and going to buy her so many toys and treats when Charlie goes home.

He is terribly, terribly sweet, and I am trying to stop myself from thinking about how it wouldn't be the worst thing in the world if he had to stay here for always.

Hooray vaccine! I'm hoping to get my first one in the next week or so, depending how many the local GPs actually receive (could be a lot! could be a few!)

I read it as a "sweet, free dog" which sounds lovely, but "sweet! free dog!" sounds good too!

Happy news! The first AZ shot knocked me over a bit, for several days. Unsure if I'll get a second dose now since it's been banned here... what a mess. Hope your side-effects remain mild!

Charlie <3 The three of you make a lovely fambly, for however long it lasts! More animal friends are better than fewer animal friends I always say. (That's how we ended up with three cats)

Everything surrounding AZ is a total shitshow, but anecdotally I've now had both doses and am very much still with us.

I think three cats is the correct number of cats, btw. I suspect that if money were somehow no object I would immediately become that weirdo who lives in the Scottish countryside with just infinite dogs.
